  I found the episode guide and didn't see the particular storyline she had mentioned. I saw those dvd's also, I wonder if someone recorded them straight off of television. Would definitely pick them up if the official release ever came out.

    Your wife is probably thinking of this episode from the television series The Night Gallery (one of the better stores in the series).
    
    For another twist on this type of storyline, read Ray Bradbury's short story 'The Toynbee Convector.'
