I wouldn't even know where to start, but next to the White Sun there was Osenniy Marafon - my wife loves that film with a great lead actor. Not sure if it has the subs, though. The 17 Moments is a well made WW2 spy drama with one of the most popular Soviet actors in the main role.

Victor ,thanks a lot for the link! Bring more of them. Have you seen "Master and Margarita" TV series on DVD's ?-Hilarious and well made (In my opinion) My Russian is pretty rusty so I wonder if there is any subtitled version) I fell in love with the book when I was 14. Still one of my favorites.

Yes, saw it, pretty good, especially the ball scene! Makes you think Kubrick should have watched it before making his Eyes Wide Shut.
The book of course is deep and I suspect was one of inspirations for Da Vinci Code, except done right.
