This is another must see.
It's like a 2 1/2 hour from bottom up Godfather of prison life.
It's riveting and it doesn't let up at any time.
Directed by Jacques Audiard who made The Beat My Heart Skipped, this is a tour de force and should be on your list immediately.
It's the telling of how a young kid goes to prison and figures out how power and influence work both inside and outside.
All the cast are good and the subtitles seem at least to convey the mood and not to miss the snapped blackness of the language.
The film takes place over a number of years and you can clearly see the young boy grow into a confident... what?
At the same time, the prison power broker seem to crumble before your eyes.
Absolutely first class film making.
