You had to bring up 61. Damm, I just knew I forgot a great one! When I think of this movie I remember Mickey Mantle telling why he likes girls with small hands. Thats funny, I don't care who you are! I live 50 miles from Fargo ND - Roger's home town. Up here, he's still the single season home run record holder. No steroids, growth hormone, or any other sh&% !! Just Camels and beer, the way the Babe did it. For a coming of age sports movie, I would have to include Vision Quest. Stacy.
Clearly a labor of love for him-everything about that film was authentic, right down to the batting stances of the actors who played Mantle and Maris.
If you haven't read Andy Strasberg's memories of Roger Maris, you'll enjoy this-great story. Andy used to work for my home town team (Padres) and I heard him talk about Maris in a radio interview.
