I've never been a fan of these revenge films and I have to say I'm still not, but Michael Caine brings something to his Harry Brown character that makes this very difficult to watch film worth watching. The rest of the cast are also on their game here as well.
When his best (and only) friend is killed after his neighbourhood is taken over by gangs, dealers and the like Harry gets a bag full of guns and proceeds to get Death Wish on their asses.
Even though IMO this is a bit of a formula movie and one knows for the most part what is coming, this is a Brit film and even formulaic Brit films are often populated by excellent actors and memorable characters/situations and some of these are why this film will IMO most likely not achieve wide distribution in the US market.
This is a dark film that allows one a watery glimpse of some things many folks probably want left unseen and out of mind.
A Great Film? No. But certainly worth seeking out.

Follow Ups:
Well ten minutes, the first one, are a robotic duplicate ( well made ) of human feelings.
The rest, are the duplication of human idiocy when it come to have a bad script.
As for the sound, digital and harsh. No mellow yellow here.
The perfect waste of time.
