Someone out there definitely has strange sensa humah. Or maybe it was just me, but I didn't feel like laughing much watching that every day's struggle.

I guess the main message is we can't judge other people's lives by our standards. What seems like an endless cruel torture might be someone's love and destiny in life. Perhaps that was the philosophical message of the film.

The environment, the living conditions of those people are well known to me, as was their peculiar mix of Russian and Kazakh languages. Ditto for their gold teeth! :( Also familiar was the landscape, taken straight out of Mad Max films, so there was definitely some personal connection there.

One of the funniest moments in the film were the guy's stories - I was trying to follow them by reading the subtitles, and most of the humor was hopelessly lost there. They were side-splitting, especially the one about his fight with octopus.

It is definitely one of those films that make you look inside of yourself, even if for a brief moment. To raw to be called a masterpiece, just a thought provoking film.
