We are forgetting that a resistance force like the one organized by
the Bielskis is NEVER going to be a band of angels. Undoubtedly
they did some things they might should not have done. Let us also
remember the conditions under which they were living, fighting, and
dying, and the enemy they were fighting. Undoubtedly, these guys
were guilty of rape, robbery and murder; these things happen in wartime,
on all sides. If you were the recipient of their misbehavior, too bad.
The Soviets and the Germans would have (and did) do the exact same
things to you.
And you have to remember that the Poles of that era (and perhaps even
currently) were strongly anti-jewish.
So the Bielskis weren't angels, but they certainly did a lot of good.

Yes,of course Poles of that era and of today were/are strongly anti-jewish. This is the reason most of masochistic Jews settled in Poland. The rest of the world was/is very pro jewish.( that's why US/western goverments didn't want to believe polish intelligence reports in WWII abouth the fate of Jews and US turned back the ships with escaping Jews straight to German gas chambers). Now, US and Germany are too powerful, have way too much money which needs to be taken care off ,better just poke at poor Poland and it's legendary antisemitism. The movie is a rubbish. Bielski's jews did not fight Germans at all and only parasited (murdery and robber) on Polish villages.I was watching Polanski's "Pianist" among desoriented and mostly ignorant US jewish audience.I was amused by an outrage how jewish director could portrait some of the jewish characters.Regards, W
The German were the invaders.
Then they killed people, not only Jews.
Remember the bombing of Warsovie.
Among many horrors.
Then nothing is proved.
