I watched this while traveling, saw it on a laptop screen but was totally engrossed in the film. Probably the most realistic depiction of the syndicate ever portrayed. The scenes on the boat where he was asking for more time/credit were chilling and exceptionally well acted. I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of 'connected' guys, but I was too young to realize it. I recognized several characters that could have been my old neighbors, and it made me smile and shudder at the same time.
Baba-Booey to you all!
Follow Ups:
tho' Cassavetes didn't direct the film, has a similar gritty 70's gangster realism to "Chinese Bookie" ( which I also love! ) The way these 2 excellent actors bounce off each other in Mikey +Nicky makes the film a real treat
