...and her husband/boyfriend looking for her for years, only to find a clue, find the murderer, and suffer her fate. The 2nd is the American remake that, IIRC, was pretty good.

We don't spend much time spent in the box, but it sure gave me the goosebumps.

Titles anyone? A search on IMDB didn't help.
