- The Outlaw Josey Wales
- Fort Apache

- Ride the High Country
- Dances with Wolves
- Once Upon a Time in the West
- True Grit (either version)
- Open Range
- High Noon
- The Magnificent Seven

The absolute worst "A" western I ever saw:

- The Rare Breed
