You need 5mbit/s to receive the best Netflix quality. I origially had a 1mbit/s connection and the picture was unwatchable. I now have Fios 35mbit/s.

SD is 480i and HD is 720p, both are 2-channel PCM. I find the quality varies greatly with the source. Some are better than a DVD, most are not. None approach a BD.
