It's getting pretty serious out there in movie land. Apparently there are no 78's floating around to match the gear and time period. Just the other night I watched "John Rabe" and a 33 was playing on a Victrola/gramophone with scratches and all on the soundtrack. I mean, it just isn't this one film...just about everything I've seen in so many years uses 33's for 78's.
Maybe all the 78's have finally hit the prop room floors and shattered into a zillion pieces, I dunno.
Give Hollywood a hand and send them you unwanted 78's.

has NO basis in reality!!! Fingers flying on long notes, breathing, but the sound doesn't stop, bows flying every which way, fingers that don't even touch the Piano keyboard...
One of my personal favorite moments, as a clarinet player, is in The Rocketeer. There's a Night Club scene with "Artie Shaw", and in 3 different shots, he has a different ligature holding the reed to the mouthpiece, and one is plastic. Not sure it was invented yet!
Continuity! Somebody was laughing their ass off over that!
