Yes Snape is a character that will be difficult to leave, however I am sure he will complain all the way to the bank. After the success of the first few films, all of the actors became very well compensated.

I had seen him in a few other films, but he did not strike me as an exceptional actor. Fiennes on the other hand is excellent.
