I have the DVD of their earlier film, "The Call of Cthulhu". Let's put it this way: if you're only into serious cinema and great films, it's not for you. It's an amateur film done in late 1920's/early 1930's style black and white and it's a silent movie in order to preserve that vintage feel. Lovecraft's fiction is not great fiction, the word "melodramatic" comes easily to mind, and the film plays that to the hilt. It's great fun for a cult audience. I suspect this film will be the same.

Follow Ups:
in it probably along a sentimentalist's line. I know the places which inspired him. I never got into his fiction and think he sounded like a pretty miserable chap .. hope he's found the other side much less terrifying than he imagined it was.
