...futuristic world where time is the currency and you stop aging at 25 - if you're rich you can live forever, starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.Interesting premise, pretty well done. It doesn't get exciting until Timberlake and Seyfried are on the run from the Timekeepers.
There are a few inconsistancies though - like the two of them running through the streets, then a shot with them standing ona hill with Seyfried in 6 inch heels.
She does look hot and it's kind of fun.
A metaphor for the banking industry and one Occupy Wall Street can use as a rallying cry.
I'd give it a B-, for relevance today.
Interesting about the weekend box office receipts winners and losers here. This was the opening weekend for this film and it was showing in a 14 theater multiplex on a single screen in a small theater (Puss-N-Boots had 2 bigger screens).
We went to the 7:40pm showing on Saturday night - the theater was completely full and people came in and left because they couldn't find seats.
Yet this will be a box office also ran. Who decides how many screens - the distributors?

I saw it as a weak metaphor but it did paint a bold picture of haves vs have nots. Bosch-style.
Imagine, that would be the perfect system to govern people. You freeze aging at 25 then have one year on the house...after that comes the complete corruption and slavery to just get by. Talking about controlling the world!
It was well done and I didn't have the first urge to gag at Timberlake the whole movie. Seyfreid is an amazing Cupie Doll made of gigantic eyes, lips, and bazoomas but I think those traits actually hinder her performances.
