may have seemed stimulating but LV was far more creative and laced with dark humor all the way. Far more intelligent and visually appealing, LV smokes the back alley appeal of OB.

rushes to every Hollywood piece of tripe (and finds something wonderful in it) and who finds breathless worth in the goriest of teen slash/torture epics, what could?
Old Boy, of course, features a spectacular performance by one of Korea's finest actors, a nemesis played by another fine one, and an unspeakable crime that eludes even the most careful viewer's solution. Yes, it does have two memorable fight scenes: they elevate that venerable action film standard to heights never before attained. The fight in the hall, all in one unedited take, is justly renowned among serious film goers. Now, that isn't to say the other two films aren't good. They are, in fact, excellent. But Old Boy is the crowning achievement.
