In Reply to: RE: Tarr's, "The Man from London." The second time, it reveals more: posted by tinear on January 13, 2012 at 15:05:53
I don't think I will live again through the first ten minutes of it - that gripping horror was too much for my delicate soul.
While I liked the other ones, I thought Satantango was good, even great in spots... yeah, the dance scene rocked, and the dead cat... but overall tMfL is more sharply focused, to the point and relentless. Too much of good thing can be too much for any master to handle.
So for now, without the benefit of two viewing for all on the list, I would say the Man is my favorite.
Follow Ups:
I'm not sure if I even made it through the end of it. I certainly don't have an Eastern European or Russian sense of drama or pacing. The whale one was equally pointless.
Good one... It CAN happen with Tarr.
