For those expecting a literal film, like "Rain Man," this one will disappoint: no over the top bravura acting moments for the immensely talented lead; no seminal moments of explosive revelation. Some reviewers have skewered the director for the style of the film; this is unexplainable when we have over-the-top exemplars of satire, such as Fellini and Bunuel, in Western film history.
Long after you've forgotten the characters in highly praised competitors (for this year's best international film), you'll remember this unusual one.
