in European cinema." David Thewlis explaining Keira Knightley's film career to Colin Farrell before he takes a job being her security guard. Truly one of the day's better lines of dialog in cinema.
Kudos to the opening of the film to the original Yardbirds performance of "Heart Full of Soul". Very nice with a few follow up 60's tunes as well to set the tone in modern day criminal London. Colin, just released from prison, is immediately snared into the dark underworld by Ben Chaplin who acts as a messenger boy for Kingpin Winstone. Farrell resists mightily to Winstone's offers and threats and half-heartedly works at taking care of Knightley and his alcoholic sister. The plot consists of several minor story lines converging with predictable results and is done in a very interesting way.
Not bad but you gotta get the NF disk. (You may need the subtitles.)
