He had apparently "untrained" from his massive build up. The guy was an animal for this film. Scary enough just catching a glimpse.
I applaud it for not being sappy and putting the twist on the end. Based on actual events? Hmmm.

Muscles on muscles. The hits looked like they would stop a train. And that fat upper lips must have been enhanced for this flick; maybe actually a sparring souvenir? Don't know. Probably al due to steroid/collagen cocktails, but who knows?
Definitely a movie that stays longer. I liked the story line just as much. Nolte never looked more pathetic in his life (acted, I think).
