Just saw this and was awed at the masterful story-telling and acting that went into this portrayal of the events of 2008. I'm sure most of you have already seen this HBO film and I am particularly impressed Hurt (who is a hell of a sight better than the real Hank) and Giamatti. Giamatti gave himself over to Bernanke's quirks but it was all good as with the rest of the cast. (Crudup went a little far with Timmy's quirks.)
If Hank really went down on a knee to Pelosi that deserves a Medal of Honor.
HBO really shined with "Barbarians At The Gate" but this far surpasses it by the sheer scale of the story.

Looks like it just came out last month.

they made a VERY difficult story pretty easy to follow and did a good job explaining the crux of the problem. Wife patiently watched it with me and about 30 minutes in told me, I still don't understand what caused the problem and what the ramifications are. At this point, as if they'd heard her, someone on Paulson's staff starts explaining these very points to some other party. Talk about good timing, if they don't explain derivatives etc.., yers truly would have had to stumble thru it, badly.

Do I have to spell it out?
