You didn't mention Stuart Whitman. I liked this movie a lot, and thought it was comparable to "Birdman of Alcatraz." as a gritty prison picture. Also a gem for Ray Walston. Timothy Carey was one of the biggest hams of all time, but an interesting one.

Yes I forgot to mention him and I enjoyed his role. Carey indeed is a ham and odd but I still like him.
