Citizen Kane would top the list for me.

Jay Weidner goes over the top for 2001, calling it the greatest movie ever made and one of the greatest artworks of all time, rivalling Da vinci. He may have tremendous appreciation for it, but still!

Some modern films won't make classic status, but were gushed over by most critics:
inception
Crash
Adaptation

Crash wasn't too bad but didn't merit the big Hollywood circle jerk.
