Imo the best of all the Star Trek movies. I've surrendered to the fact that it is a reboot and that CGI now going to be the norm, ok. But that aside I was amazed at how they weaved the story and how the pieces fit. This is not "Casablanca" or "Seven Samurai" so I wasn't looking for any Oscar performances but given that it is a reboot I liked how the players make this movie work. Perfect no, satisfying yes. Some thoughts; to really enjoy the movie you've got to know Star Trek (basically the original TV series and the "original series" movies#. Abrams has taken some liberties with some traditional characters. We'll have to live with that. The pace as mentioned before is breakneck but it works for me. I liked it and based on the applause the packed theater gave it at the end #a first for me with a Star Trek movie and I've seen them all) I'd say they like it too.PS: see this film at an Imax 3d theater if you can, you won't be disappointed.

when they encountered the Klingons there was about 30 seconds of talking and boom, a fight scene and they were off to another adventure. I was curious as to the Klingons views and wish there was more depth. Or did you really care about the superhumans? There was not enough to promote that train of thought either.
Just not at all like the series but will still make a ton at the box office I am sure.
