I watched it last night "on Demand" through FIOS. $5.99. It came with a 48 hr window. So, if I wanted to, I could watch it again and again as much as I like, for 48 hours. Once was enough for me. 23 hours to go.
Typically, when I sign on to view a movie like this one I do take some pleasure in the high class CGI and first rate set design that one expects. Eye candy does work for me. But the weak plot line and rather gimmicky Ironman suit developments that were happening in this movie made it hard to suspend any disbelief.
There were some interesting plot twists. re: who's the bad guy, really! But, after its all told, that came off like cheesy mis-direction. And the super-human physical capabilities the opponents in this film had did not seem plausible for me. Too much comic book. Not quite enough reality to sell it.
It did seem to settle a few personal issues with the core characters. In its way, the movied seemed to say that this is the last Ironman feature film. And,fwiw, it definitely doesn't deserve another sequel if this is the level of story telling we are to expect.
Perhaps we will see Ironman in an Avengers sequel. But I'd imagine that that sequel, like so many others, would be anti-climactic in comparison to its debut installment.
Oh well. At least the first Ironman movie was good. Such is life, I guess.

Follow Ups:
Saw that one coming a mile off. It was like "The Village" all over again, except I still think Favreau has some talent as opposed to M Night Dingaling. In the IM trilogy, Favreau was a victim of his own success on the first movie, which caused the studio to get way too heavily involved in the sequels.I can't understand how this got a decent rating from anyone.
I agree with you, an Avengers sequel will most likely be a mess. I'm amazed the first one was any good.
