Maybe it was the fact I was 12 when I saw it during its initial release (I had a very liberal mother), but the axes cutting into the sleeping bag and what seemed his character getting decapitated stayed with me for years. To this day it still creeps me out, and I've only seen it twice since even though I have it on disc.
