This wasn't even close to Coppola's first film. Coppola got his start in Roger Corman's factory and directed his first film in 1962.

I don't know if you are being sardonic or meant "finest" film. The Godfather films are pretty darn good (at least I and II) and Apocalypse Now is one of my favorite films along with The Conversation.

Hi. Don't believe I said finest film. Did say first film about which I stand corrected. Maybe I was thinking his first film made by American Zeotrope, his new studio at the time. Shit if I know.
