Dench isn't fabulous, I didn't see any Oscar moments. She was� solid; she crafted a singular character.
Coogan was stretched a little bit from his usual obnoxious, over-bearing, and snide self.
Together, they were wonderful; blessedly, this film was notable for its lack of clich�.
The story, btw, was enhanced for me by the fact it was "true."

Agreed. Mrs PG and I saw it yesterday and both of us were impressed with Dame Judy Dench. She can get more acting done with a wrinkled forehead or squinting her eyes than most actresses can get done in thirty minutes.
