pop-up storybook films with lots of color and cardboard characters. Fiennes was very good and clearly out showed any of the zillion other notables in the film. Wes seems to have achieved Woody Allen status whereas so many actors will line up for such short roles. He must have a heavyweight caterer with great cocktails.
I noticed the latest gimmick was the shifting aspect ratio to match the time of the narration. I did enjoy the film but his formula seems rather set by the way his characters are drawn and story told. It's always fun to see his movies because there are nothing quite like them anywhere. I still pin the tale on "Fox".
