Stupid, stupid, stupid. And I'm just the guy to sit through it. This is supposedly a new Hammer Film made in the same flat, one length lens look of yore. It is based on the "true story" of a professor attempting to cure a hysterical young woman with the help of a staff of three. In typical style anything that was supposed to be scary would be preceded by a loud spike in the volume. More annoying than scary. Not very interesting except for the two girls portrayed. Despite suffering the full length of the film there was nary a female bit to home in on. I want my two hours back--they can keep the money just get me the time.
Follow Ups:
It was pretty good. Very nicely filmed actually. Seeing it in the theater was better than on TV, as it was a pretty dark movie. It starred Daniel Radcliffe, (of Harry Potter fame), and he did a decent job. Definitely not a gore fest, if that is what you're looking for.
But if you're looking for a creepy film, that it is.
Too bad about The Quiet Ones, as I was hoping for a decent horror film this year. (There does not look to be much on the horizon that looks that good.)
