octogenarians Massimo and Lella, have been dominant forces in design for fifty years.
Even folks who don't care a whit about the functionality and beauty of everyday objects and information-sharing know their iconic works: the NYC subway map (or more correctly, as Massimo points out, it's "diagram"); the logos for American Airlines, Bloomingdales, Citicorps, and dozens of others.
For the more design-oriented, their tables and chairs and other items have become staples in elegant offices and homes.
But what makes this truly worthwhile isn't just the beautiful images of their designs: this is a fascinating study of a couple that have lived together, worked and fought together for fifty years--- and still are feisty and loving.
Highly recommended!
