I guess that could sort of work into another movie plot. There must be a reason why Scott earns the big bucks and the rest of us have to pay to see.
;-)
Shortcomings of the original film; acting
Hauer, Young, M. Emmet Walsh
-----------------
Hanna was good. So Was Brion james.
Ford: well, he's Ford.
Brion James died in 1999. Too bad. His was a genuinely scary character and made a good dull-witted replicant soldier with sadistic tendencies. A shame we can't recall him.
I liked the Chinese technician....James Hong. I thought he disappeared into his character very well. He must be getting rather ancient by now.
Joe Turkel was believable with his extra thick geeky glasses.
Joanna Cassidy. Good enough but not memorable.
Olmos: very good.
just m2c.
A flawed movie to begin with. But the atmosphere worked really well.

Follow Ups:
Steve...Good character breakdown...
Olmos, Turkel, and Hong really solid performances...I will add to that...M. Emmitt Walsh...Police Captain
Very good...Hannah, James and I really liked William Sanderson as J.F. Sebastian...Loner, geek brainy-ac with diminutive stature was spot on...
But for me this was all about first person narration film noir set in the future...really had not been done before. I like visions of the future that are not too pristine...haves' and have-not's
Ford was playing a version of Philip Marlow...set in the future. The moodiness and look fed that narrative well.
Just my $.02
Thanks
Mark
