As he most watched drama series on TV: ad rates must be enormous.
Plus sales on memorabilia and DVD's are tremendous.

The series can go on repeat and HBO has the exclusive, because of the nudity and violence, which keeps it automatically in HBO's domain.

They presell the past season's episodes on Amazon an Ebay......(i confess to buying them, too. and they sell a lot !!!!
