Please STOP torturing us!!! Why can't they just leave the goddamn comic characters alone and stop trying to force some kind of "kumbaya" ethos upon us?

I felt very much the same way when they put a little black girl into the character of Annie, although that one was not quite the stretch that FF is. Enough, already, with the casting of black folks in what have always been roles for white folks. Try to imagine the uproar that would ensue if Uncle Tom's Cabin was fronted by a white guy - it simply makes no sense...

PS: And one minor correction - comics went from 10 cents to 12 cents and stayed there for several years, 3 or 4 IIRC. They then went to 15 cents and that's about the time I checked out...
