I agree with everyone here and I was skeptical about the genre...I am not a medieval fantasy kind of guy...One of nephews read the books and he told me to watch it...
This encompasses 7 Kingdoms, with all different geography with cross arranged marriages, alliances, bastard children, deception all pining for the Iron Throne...
Season one is imperative to get the lay of the land, families involved and charactors...it starts rather slow and very confusing, but by the season 1 finale...who will go what the hell???
Every season builds off that...you really learn to hate, love and loath ALL these flawed characters...lots of foreshadowing with big twists and big payoffs...the story telling, (plot), is like a one of your circuit boards, intricate, all related and it all matters...(how is that for analogy??)...
This is very conducive to binge watching...
As it as already been said nothing on TV to date has this kind of production value, stellar casting of actors with unapologetic and unflinching story telling and cinematography...the camera does not look away or blink...
I personally think you will enjoy it, if you make it through the first season...
Please let us know what you think of it once you get a couple of seasons under your belt if you choose to watch this...
good luck
thanks
Mark
Follow Ups:
except the part about binge watching. This is a *brutal* show. if you binge watch it, they are likely to find you still in the fetal position 3 days later...
It says something, when the best character is a drunken, whoring dwarf.
I made it through the first 3 seasons, then bowed out. Too exhausting for me.
That said, if he can get past the basic setting, Victor might like the show.
