The great thing is going in with very low expectations and being nicely surprised. My main issue with it was the total lack of humour. It was well done for what it is and vastly better than the las horrible Superman movie. And it felt shorter than a 2.5 hour film which is a good thing.
As an aside I also wish they had written and cast by FAR the best Lex Luthor....Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville. A rich character in nuance and depth and Mayne THE reason to watch Smallville. In this movie Lex was basically the riddler without the riddles. Still it was a mild thumbs up for me.

I was surprised at the level of intimacy shown between Clark and Lois. So much for squeaky clean comic books.
Not an Eisenberg fan. He is the Jewish Sam E Jackson. He's just himself with his personality either amped up or down. He is tiresome here.
Right you are, no overt funnies cracked in this one. It was like Super Heroes Meet Sin City.
But, it does fly by which is to its credit.
