Two fun crime shows from the 50's.
I'm sure many are familiar with Peter Gunn. Blake Edwards created and produced it with Mancini (as always) at his side doing the music. The Soundtrack album won a Grammy.
Jazz plays a big part of the show with Lola Albright singing as Peters love interest Edie. She just died last year at 93. There's lots of live, not lip synced jazz in the show with west coasters Shelly Manne et al.
Lots of great actors in the three year 100 plus well preserved episodes. A young Gavin McLoed is the bad guy in episode one. Very noir show! Katey Sagals dad Boris directs many episodes.
The lesser known Decoy starring beautiful Bevery Garland as (often) undercover policewoman/detective Casey Jones is also well worth watching.
