It certainly wasn't for children. I never read comic books of this ilk and had a problem wrapping my brain around an antihero that bit heads off. (Did he swallow them like a cannibal?) Hardy's character's personality constantly irritated me and the film's CGI was one twerk below the current standard for such films. The real test is that I don't want to see it again.

Of course, it is required viewing for the comic book crowd and they may think it's great.
