I don't want to sound too snobbish, but cartoons are for kids, typically on Saturday mornings, (much like Trix), whereas animated movies are for everyone.
My two cents worth anyway!
Thanks for the tip though, I might want to go and see that one.
(I really like Batman, although the current run of live action Batman movies leave much to be desired.)
Follow Ups:
You are correct, it does sound a bit snobbish, too fine a distinction for my tastes, but if it matters to some, i'm ok with that. Some people spend time with a scale model railroad, others enjoy playing with toy trains. I own a bunch of little toy slot cars, once in a while you run across a guy who insists on the label scale model car racing . I guess they require status when they play with toys.
I once went to a model railroad club's open house, where these two worlds collided. Two trains accidentally hit at an intersection, and I was treated to a very insistent discussion about the importance of schedules in scale model railroading, verses just putting your train on the track and screwing around. They discussed the point heatedly at some length, I was so happy to have witnessed it.
I went with cartoon as an identifier because it is easier to type. If I were the quarrelsome type, I might drag the great short film popeye meets sinbad into a discussion of identity , but i'm a lover man.
