Thanks for the tip on the short run. I am hearing promotional radio interviews from a producer, director, I don't know, creator? but no showings so far in my area.
I hope it is not a good product with a poor distributor. He said it was going for commercial release, not just the imax at the science center stuff. Might be hard to get screen tine against the big money super hero projects coming to town this time of year.
I have a lot of screens in my Los angeles area. I would have had to drive some distance to attend the one screen that was showing "Free solo, in Imax, an oscar winning documentary. As it was, when i saw it on a regular screen, I was doing an elvis, I was the only guy there.
This in a town where names on credits will draw applause in some houses.
Follow Ups:
I recently saw this in a multiplex. Although I am a sucker for this kind of stuff, it is not the type of show that will generate enough income to justify putting it into an Imax theatre with a lot of seats.
I really enjoyed the show, but it is has some problems, stretching the newly discovered material in clever ways, and using interesting cuts to enhance content, it was well done. But the enjoyable new images didn't really go beyond a different view on the same story. Luckily, it is a good story, and
i enjoyed the show, but even so, my attention wondered at places.
