If you turn the TV of then back on again, then it may be a handshake problem. I'm not an ecpert, but I've heard some of the STBs are basically dog doo. Have you contacted verizon?
As a side note, do you need a STB if you have a digital tuner? Verizon's FIOS will eventually come to my area, but I don't want a STB.

Is STB a TLA for "Set Top Box"? Yes, I have a cable box.
I don't want the clutter of a STB, nor the signal degridation. Pitty. I was hoping they could just take the coaxal straight to my set and let it's tuner do the work. Perhaps they can use a cablecard-Comcast couldn't get them to work for me. Or, I won't use them at all. We'll see.
