You probably want an analog signal. Right now you can't get YPbPr from HDMI, but there was a device that enabled analog RGB. If your display can accept analog RGB, then the device would get you up to 1920x1080p (for HiDef) resolution. It sold between $299 (the last time I saw it) and $399 (the price supposedly went up due to the obvious demand once word got out).
I checked the site (Digital Connection and it was made by DTrovision) and I don't see it being sold anymore (the current model won't work with HDCP, unlike the original). You may be able to find one used if this setup will work for you.
