Look for clearance soon on that player as the 1400 will be showing up shortly. A post on the avsforum was making folks aware he saw it at a local Sears location for $399. Not too shabby I suppose but I'm unsure of the differences and the suggested cost on the 1400.

the 1200 has a REON chip in it, and will be better at upscaling DVDs than the 1400.The 2400 is also coming out-its the same as the 1400, but with the REON chip in it. None of them will be Video 1.1 compliant.
