Actually I am extremely surprised by the steady stream of classical recording that is coming out on SACD. Who would have thought that classical music, which has an extremely limited following in the big picture, would do so well on SACD, a tiny part of the recording world. But the fact is that what is coming out is not only a significant number of new recordings every month, but they are not just old warhorses designed for the mass market. In fact, if you think about it, that would never work. But recordings like the complete Beethoven sonatas played by Brautigan on pianoforte are real treasures. I thought SACD would die an early death and only have a cheapie player (which has worked flawlessly), but now I have so many recordings (including about 10 on my unplayed shelf- I'm getting behind) and so many desirable ones are coming out that I am considering stepping up to a better player.

Your views on this subject have been expressed many times. Probably you are not a classical music fan or have not really explored what is out there or coming out every month. I started buying vinyl around 1960, and I can find as many new releases of classical music on SACD per month to buy now (3-6) as I did vinyl then. To me that says a lot.
