True HD is mandatory to meet HD DVD specs. I don't know if it has a REON chip in it either. It was just announced, so we'll have to wait for more details. I'm not in the market either, since I already have one of each, otherwise, I'ld seriously look into this.

The PQ is comparable on both, and BD may have the edge in audio, but that's not top of my priority list for movies. I generally prefer HD DVD, mostly because I prefer their movie titles, but I also think that HD DVD is far more consumer friendly than BD. That and the fact that my A1 is more reliable than my 1200.
