It does address the issue with the new Fox titles. And yes, according to Samsung, it IS a BD+ issue (despite what Fox and Paidgeek say).
You can either burn an iso image onto a CD from their website, or if its convenient, hook the player up via the ethernet port in back.
OTOH, the update will not fix any of the other problems many of us 1200 owners have. Mine will not play RA2, or Corpse Bride. It freezes up on 2 others, has lip sync issues with 3 discs, and frequent handshake issues too.
I have a 50% error rate on BDs with this POS. Its one saving grace, is that its an excellent DVD player.
To put this in perspective, I have had problems with 2 HD DVDs out of 75.
Originally, my advice would have been to wait and buy a 1.1 compliant player, but the only stand alones that will be compliant are the combo players and $2K Denon.
You might want to consider the Sharp player, if you can find one. I'm thinking about it. Or, you may just wish to skip Blu-Ray altogether. I'm thinking about that too.
There's alot of really pissed off Samsung owners right now-BD is losing customers because of this.
Good Luck,
Jack
Follow Ups:
I talked to Samsung "support?" again today and they will mail me the update. The tech was not sure if it would fix my problems and maybe it is misslabeled on their web site and maybe it will let me play CDs again (none will now play) because the last update screwed up with the Java (?). He did feel it would help me play 20th Century's new Bluray but he could not understand why it was still labeled version 1.0 on their web site. Quite a way to run a company and ruin Bluray for most of us.
