PS/3 system 1.94 is out, sort of (Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction)

Not currently available from the USA Playstation site, but it's contained on the brand-new Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction game disk and it appears to be required in order to play the game. Not yet sure if there are any bits which affect Blu-Ray playback, or whether these are ongoing patches to the Sixaxis controller or something similar.

Demand for this well-promoted game seemed modest: Though there was a large poster in the window announcing it's release today, it was nearly 2 in the afternoon when I got to EB Games, and they hadn't even unpacked the game disks yet. But so far, this is looking like a very solid (and gorgeous!) game, the sort which PS/3 fans have been waiting for.

That's not surprising. The PS3 isn't selling well compared to its competitors. The Sony Playstation 2 still outsells the PS3 by about 2 to 1.
