If I am only going to have a single HD source feeding my "soon to be" Pioneer PRO150 Plasma, do I need a processer that has HDMI inputs/outputs? Wouldn't I just run a single HDMI cable directly into the TV from the DVD player and some other digital/analog cable to the Non-HDMI capable processor for sound? Any advantage to getting a HDMI capable processer like the Integra DTC-9.8 if I only plan to have a single source?
Thanks, Jim94025
Follow Ups:
and your pre/pro has an available 6 channel analog inputs which will work in bypass mode, you don't need HDMI for sound. I'm trying to avoid a Pre/pro upgrade for as long as possible but eventually I may have to bite the bullet if my satellite goes to DD+ broadcasts and/or I start accumulating too many HDMI sources and/or I get sick and tired of mediocre source player DACs.
Depends on how committed you are the the newest, best audio tracks, such as MCH LPCM, TrueHD and DTS MA.
