Follow Ups:
I've received some discs from Netflix that looked like they were intentionally damaged (so far no Blu-rays or HD DVDs that were completely trashed). A couple of years ago I got a disc of a German movie into which someone had gouged a swastika.
Nevertheless, all of the HD DVDs I've rented so far have played fine, even those with lots of scratches. I had a lot more trouble with rental Blu-ray discs, but it may have been my player (which is now at Sony for repair).
not play the disc. But since its a comedy with little no plot, I skipped ahead to the next chapter. But I will post a picture of the disc, it is intentionally scratched. Maybe I am too suspicious but some of these Blu-ray fanboys.......Anyway, hope your Blu-Ray player comes back pronto.
