There's no magnetism problems with plasmas.
Comcast. Charter services this area, so it's only one step on the rung higher than the bottom compared to your area.
The Jensen thingy is probably a transformer (they're used to break ground loops). Ground loops usually appear as rolling lines and/or picture distortions. Do you have rolling lines/distortions or just a crappy signal? If it's just a crappy signal, you may need a signal booster, not a transformer (or you may need both, depending). If you don't use it, do you still see the left corner problems? If not, it's the transformer.
If that's not it, turn everything off and unplug all connections. Begin replugging the connections that you use to view your television signal, then stop. Turn on the plasma and cable box to see if you're still seeing the problem. If you still have the problem, it's either a tuner/processor problem with the plasma, a signal booster problem (see above) or potentially there's trouble with the left side of the plasma grid, which means you either have to get it repaired or return it. If the problem is gone, good. Begin plugging in other items and see if the problem returns. If it does, there's your answer.
Hope that helps.
Follow Ups:
...is that it only happens with screens that have been "upconverted" to HD. HD channels showing HD content to not exhibit this problem. But, when watching something..especially something brighter, in SD or SD on an HD channel but reformulated to fill 16:9 it happens..more on the upper left but sometimes in both the top and bottom corners.. and even though it is not affected by magnets that is exactly how it appears.. that sort of distortion.
I could be perfect content if everything was originally in HD.
